Springtime at Carluke Orchards

The heady smell of baking from our bakery competes for your attention amid the fragrant blossoms of spring in the orchard. Come walk in the orchard as the petals drift around you and the bees busily go about their work. This is usually the second week of May, but check with us to be sure, it may change from year to year, depending on the weather. And springtime in Canada means the delicious sweetness of Maple Syrup. We offer many sizes and we put this delight into our seasonal baking at this time of the year.

SUMMER

A drive in the country (or a relaxing bicycle ride!) wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Carluke Orchards. Enjoy a Hewitt’s Ice Cream Cone or one of our freshly baked goodies as you sit on the front porch. We feature the best of what summer has to offer in our baking, fresh strawberry muffins, fresh raspberry and blueberry scones and squares and our famous fresh peach pies in August. There is a play area for your little ones, so you can relax at one of our picnic tables and enjoy the countryside. Or take a walk through the orchard and see the apples as they grow and listen to the buzzing of the bees that are housed right here on the farm.

FALL

This is our premiere time of the year. Everything is bustling and there is a crispness in the air. Families gather on weekends to create memories as they pull a wagon up and down the rows and pick apples and you can hear the laughter of children through the trees. Every weekend we offer FREE wagon rides through the orchard, a sure hit with your children and grandchildren! The bakery is overflowing with delicious treats to take home and freshly pressed apple cider is free to sample before you take some home.  Christmas time is always special at Carluke Orchards. We are busy baking an amazing array of Christmas cookies, tarts, squares, pies and more for your festive parties and family get-togethers. Our mincemeat is made by us from scratch as are all our baked goods.

We are famous for our shortbread, all hand rolled and hand decorated. We would be happy to put together a  platter of baked delights for you. Enjoy a cup of hot apple cider as you browse through our store looking for that perfect gift.

Ask about our “Free Pie for a Year” card, affectionately named “You’ve Got Friends in Pie Places” for that someone who has everything. Outside we have a large selection of fresh pre-cut Christmas trees to take home and decorate with your family.
